Stoke Schoolboys victory in the English Schools Trophy

During May 1963 Stoke On Trent Schoolboys football team played Bristol Boys over 2 legs in the final of the English Schools Trophy.


The boys beat Bristol 3-0 away and followed that with a 2-1 victory in front of 18,000 spectators at the Victoria Ground.

Many of the team went on to make  careers  out of the game including Stoke City Legends Dennis Smith and John Marsh who were part of the 1972 League Cup winning team.

To celebrate the victory and reunite the team SCOBA are hosting a evening at the Britannia Stadium.
