Charity Cricket Match Sunday – 1st September 2013

Stoke City Old Boys are returning to the wicket this Sunday the 1st of September to play in a Charity Cricket Match against a Porthill team at Porthill Cricket Club.

The match is in aid of CRY a charity that supports cardiac research for young persons. The match is set to start at 1.30pm. After their successful debut match last year when SCOBA took on a Hem Heath team we hope that the boys can put up another good performance.

The team will consist of John Ruggiero, Paul Johnson, John Lumsdon, Terry Lees and some new faces including Martin Brown, Mike McDonald, Carl Beeston and former City forward and favourite Chris Iwelumo.

We hope that other SCOBA legends including Terry Conroy and Denis Smith will be there to support the team.

The black and white picture shows a Stoke City team back in 1972 when The Potters played against a Lancashire side  that included David Lloyd and Clive Lloyd.
